kurupt-hawaiian-bonefish-flies
Kurupt Hawaiian Bonefish Flies

The Kurupt Hawaiian Bonefish flies was designed by Elias also known as the Kurupt Hawaiian on Instagram. He uses one fly to catch bonefish, golden trevally, and other fish. His fly has also hooked milkfish. This fly comes in various sizes and colors.

Directions:

Cast fly at least one pole length in front of the fish in its potential direction of travel. When fish get within visual distance of the fly. Move the fly to get the attention of the bonefish. If the bonefish reacts to the fly, leave the fly in place with tension on the line. When you feel or see the bite, pull line straight back. This is also known as a strip-set. Avoid trout sets.

When ordering flies order flies for the places you fish. Water depth, currents, lighting, and wave conditions will determine what flies you use.

Size:

Use xxs or bead chain eyes with size 8 or 6 hooks when fishing shallow water, no current, no waves or low light conditions. Smaller flies generate softer impact on the surface of the water which allows you to cast closer to the fish without spooking the fish.

Use Xs or small eyes with larger hooks when fishing in higher currents, more light, slight waves, deeper water and lighted conditions. These flies generate louder impact on the surface of the water which means you have to cast further from the fish. More light allows you to see the fish early and lead the fish more when casting.

Use Large or XL eyes in deeper conditions and more wave action. You will need the fly to stay in place and get to the bottom. These flies are great for fishing Maui flats.

Color:

Pick your color based on the bottom color. These are suggestions based on our theory we developed over the years. Use beige or tan when fishing darker bottoms. Use brown or black when fishing lighter color bottoms. Reds and orange are universal. Use green when there is fresh water present and crabs have green algae on their backs.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0950/0681/8625/files/5852D0C9-DE9A-47F4-9B79-FE576271319B.jpg?v=1761158634
